Sharing One Earth

20 minutes

Made by 5th-8th grade students at Indian Island School, Penobscot Nation, Indian Island, Maine, and 6th-8th grade students from the English as a Second Language Program at King Middle School, Portland, Maine. The video uses several types of animation techniques and live-action video to retell the Native American story, “The Praying Flute”. Adapted by the students, the story goes from long ago to the present and focuses on the need for all cultures, particularly the children, to take care of Mother Earth and to share her with others.
